The Comforty Real Industry Exhibition during the inauguration of the Concordia Design Centre in Poznań23.12.2011

On 24 November, here, in the heart of Poznań, in the Old Print Shop, restored in just 76 weeks, one of Poland’s most important centres opened, seeking to focus companies engaged in design and innovation, as well as function as a prestigious exhibition centre.

As part of Concordia’s inaugural activities, the Comforty Real Industry exposition opened – Poland’s first presentation of the new collection under the artistic direction of Tomek Rygalik. Other events at the ceremonial opening included the exhibition Polish Design curated by Dorota Koziara, and the Mothers of Invention exhibition, part of the concurrently held open house School of Form, dedicated to the works of two great women of the design world: Patricia Urquiola and Patrizia Moroso. The exhibition curator was the appreciated trend analyst and patron of School of Form – Lidewille Edelkoort. The programme was supplemented by a conference, workshops and meetings.

The Comforty Real Industry exhibition, curated by Tomek Rygalik, recalled the Milan display at Superstudio Più. Viewers in Poznań could see genuine furniture designed for Comforty by Anderssen&Voll, Lucidi Pevere, Philippe Nigro, Tomasz Augustyniak and Tomek Rygalik. Most noted were the most recent Comforty products, never presented before, addressed to the contract market – Moris chairs and Standard tables.

In Dorota Koziara’s arrangement, titled simply Polish Design, you can also see the products Tomek designed for Noti. Polish Design was not focused solely on upholstered furniture. Also presented were "inflatable" steel chairs by Oskar Zięta and wooden products by a well-known designer with whom Comforty has been working from almost the very beginning. We mean Tomasz Augustyniak, of course.
